| Bartels-Pagliaro
Architects was founded as a design oriented studio in
New York, in 1974. The firm believed that practicing
architecture as a performing art leads to client satisfaction.
Since its location in Connecticut the firm has developed
a premier reputation as the creator of exceptional architecture
throughout North America.
Bartels-Pagliaro’s
guiding principal of architecture is that all structures
– those in which we create our experiences –
should enhance and reflect the complete context within
the environment. The firm brings the idea of Gesampkunstwerk
(total work of art) to each project. The
philosophy is simple: each project they design will
be exceptionally functional, achieving this goal by
applying key concepts of Place, Space, Light, Scale,
and Material to every design.
The
hallmark of a Bartels-Pagliaro Architects home is the
marriage of the home and site to create place. A well
organized spatial flow provides the primary contribution
to their design. Spatial flow maintains the sensibility
with which one space relates to the next, creating a
functional and elegant plan. The home becomes an open,
airy sanctuary.
“Architecture”
is the play of light on form”. A Bartels-Pagliaro
Architects home deliberately takes best advantage the
effect of sunlight. Projects are designed with numerous
opportunities to maximize the daylight and its affect
on spatial flow. Each accentuates the other, enticing
you into the space, conveying a sense of grandness,
confidence and optimism….a sense of life’s
possibilities.
The
impact of scale is subtle yet profound. The floor plans
demand awareness of the relationship of one area to
another, and a vigilance of scale as it pertains to
the entire plan. The union of site and structure make
a Bartels-Pagliaro home not just a building, but a place
at peace with itself. A place that imparts a contentment
of its own.
